Inside MAFTS

Join us at MAFTS – the Marina Alta Fashion & Textiles Studio – and unlock your full design potential. Explore how your 2D ideas can evolve into exciting 3D fashion pieces through structured, hands-on courses in a nurturing space designed to inspire creativity and confidence.

Our classes cover every stage of the design process, from sketching and concept development to pattern cutting, sewing, draping, and final garment construction. Whether you're starting from scratch, gaining valuable employability skills or refining existing experience, you'll learn in a supportive, encouraging studio environment that nurtures individual style and growth.

Courses at MAFTS are led by Jayne Burton, a UK-qualified fashion and textiles lecturer with over 30 years of industry and academic experience. With a Master’s degree and a PGCE in Post-Compulsory Education and Training, Jayne brings both professional expertise and academic depth to every class. In addition to creative technique and practical skills, students at MAFTS benefit from real-world experience through industry-linked projects, fashion competitions, and guest lectures from working professionals.

Sustainability is a core value here too, with a strong focus on zero waste design and ethical production practices. Whether you're an aspiring designer, a curious beginner, or a creative looking to sharpen your skills, MAFTS offers a welcoming community where students of all levels can explore their passion for fashion and textiles.
